Booking your initial appointment
Please call or email us to enquire about our doctors current waiting time for an initial appointment. You will need your GP or medical specialist referral to be faxed to (07 3102 8508). Once the doctors have reviewed your referral, to triage and ensure how they can best meet your needs, our friendly admin team will be in contact with an initial appointment time.
If you require urgent assistance please contact your GP or present to your nearest emergency department/hospital.
Bellmount House does not provide emergency or out of hours care.
Covid Policy – Referral – Fees & Billing
COVID19 POLICY
(updated April 2023)
Face to face consults are available to patients regardless of vaccination status, so long as you are feeling well and show no flu-like symptoms.
• While face masks are not required, we ask that you do not attend in-clinic appointments if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms.
• Where possible, please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your consult, this is to minimise the number of persons in the waiting room at once.
IMPORTANT: Please phone the clinic on 07 3832 9984 if you have an upcoming appointment and have been exposed to Covid-19 OR have flu-like symptoms as you will not be able to enter the clinic. We can, however, in most instances, convert your appointment into a Telehealth (phone or video) consultation.
Treatment via Telehealth services is available to all.
We are committed to protecting our patients, staff, visitors, and the community. We thank you for your understanding and compliance with both Queensland Government restrictions and the measures that we have introduced in our efforts to play our part in reducing the spread of Covid-19.
We are delighted to advise that all our doctors and support staff are compliant with the Queensland Health directives regarding vaccination.
If you are over 16 years and not currently fully vaccinated, we encourage you to get vaccinated, and to raise any concerns about vaccinations with your GP.
Referral
Our psychiatrists require a referral from your GP or other medical specialist. This referral is required before an appointment can be booked. Referrals from GPs expire after 12 months and specialist referrals expire after 3 months. A valid referral is needed in order to be eligible for a rebate.
Medicare Safety Net
The Medicare Safety Net means that the Government will provide a higher rebate for medical outpatient services once an individual or family has spent:
• $2414.00 in out of pocket fees for all medical services delivered out of hospital in a calendar year, or
• $770.30 if you are a concession card holder or family receiving family tax benefit (A).
Medicare will automatically keep track of your progress towards the benefit for individuals. However, to receive this benefit as a family, the family must be registered for the safety net. Please click here for a link to the form to register a couple or family for the Medicare Safety Net.
For more information contact Medicare on 1800 011 163, or visit their website.
Fees & Billing
Different fee structures apply for different practitioners and appointment length.
Please contact reception to obtain further information on fees and billing.
We are not a bulk billing practice and as such, payment is required to be made in full on the day of each appointment. This practice is cashless and accepts EFTPOS, as well as Visa card and Mastercard.
To make claiming your rebate as easy as possible, please ensure you have registered your bank account details with Medicare. This means that Bellmount House can forward the claim electronically to Medicare on your behalf.
Private health insurance does not cover outpatient psychiatric fees.
Cancellation fees may apply to appointments cancelled with less than two working days notice. Our cancellation policy exists to allow time for our waitlisted patients to be offered an appointment when it becomes available from a cancellation.
